About
I’m a multi-disciplined artist, photographer, and accomplished designer. I have a passionate interest in solving design problems, telling stories, and creating both beautiful and purposeful imagery. I have a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University in Graphic Communication with a concentration in Design Reproduction Technology. Through my education and experience I have gleaned a wide breadth of knowledge in art and design.
Although I am interested in many areas of design, I’ve spent the last few years focusing on designing for privacy, trust, and safety in digital spaces. I currently work as a Visual Designer on the Windows team at Microsoft. My focus has been primarily on understanding the importance of trust with new and changing technologies, and building a visual narrative that illustrates Microsoft’s values on privacy.
Previously, I have contributed and worked on the Microsoft Family and Google Trust & Safety teams. Microsoft Family centered around building products that helped keep kids safe during their online usage, while Google Trust & Safety was focused on making the internet a safer place, free of violence, hate, abuse, and harm. These opportunities have deepened my interest in the importance of trust and security in design, and protecting users in digital spaces.
Beyond my work experience and degree in design, my passion encompasses human rights, social awareness, and human compassion. I believe empathy is at the heart of all good design, and I find amazing work is achievable through understanding another’s vision. It is my goal to listen, empathize, empower, and most of all, understand the humans I interact and work with.
